This Teen Made Her Own Prom Dress. You Won’t Believe What Happened Next!

Meet Kyemah McEntyre, a high school senior at Cicely Tyson School of Performing and Fine Arts in East Orange, New Jersey. This fashion forward young woman made this gorgeous gown herself, proving you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars, get an up-do nor look like a Disney cupcake to fit in.

She wrote an inspirational truth: “This is for always being labeled as, ‘ugly’ or ‘angry’. Thank God, stereotypes are just opinions.”

So what did her classmates think or her non-traditional gown? She was voted prom queen! Yaaaaaaaas!

This beauty shines in so many ways. Not only is her natural hair awesome (I got a thing for afros), she’s obviously talented and proves that you don’t need to be basic to be the center of attention. The internet is abuzz with supporters and fans. McEntyre is slated to start at Parsons School of Design in NYC this fall. We’re sure we’ll hear about her again.
