We wish her the best!

Yesterday, Madonna fans and the media couldn’t stop talking about the news of Madonna adopting twin girls from Africa. Malawi judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula confirmed that the High Court in the country approved the adoption order for 4½-year-old twin girls. We couldn’t be more excited for her!

The judge admitted that she had to ask the singer a series of “uncomfortable questions” before approving anything. “The petitioner is a professional performer and I guarded myself against the danger of her merely reciting a well-rehearsed speech by asking her some rather uncomfortable questions to which she gave very candid answers,” Judge Fiona Mwale said in her ruling. “There is no doubt that the petitioner can offer the infants not only the best education money can buy, but also guidance with a high likelihood of ensuring that the two infants grow to be self-sufficient adults.”

Today, Madonna broke her social media silence addressing the news writing, “I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family. I am deeply grateful to all those in Malawi who helped make this possible, and I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time.”

If you think Malawi is a random country, think again. She adopted her son David and daughter Mercy from the country in 2006 and 2007 and has spent countless hours fighting poverty amongst orphaned children with her “Raising Malawi” charity for the past ten years.
