Son Jung Wan comes back to present her Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. She creates her own unique look by mixing and matching contrasting elements. This counterbalance could be interpreted as Yin and Yang. Hard edge details or rough texture fabrics were used to contrast the softness of the silhouette. The straight line silhouette counterbalances with soft, oriental and streamline details.

This collection is titled “Dualism,” and shows the contrasting elements to create a sense of perfect balance. Bright, bold palettes are moderated by the kindness of details inspired by Son Jung Wan Korean background. Rough fabrics such as hemp and mesh counter the unrestricted, soft silhouettes.
The color ranges from mysterious opal to alluring magenta. We can also see deep toned jungle green, blues from the Danube River, deep purple and cool mint that gives a fresh feeling of summer and stand out against tan neutrals. Various colors are mixed up and matched with chalky white and neutral beige.
One particularly outfit standout for me. A multi-colored sequined jumpsuit that closed the show. It was fantastic! The lights made all the sequin sparkle and shine in all directions. It was like a candy dress with beautiful contrast. As the music faded the sequins flickered and bounced, leaving a trail of light and all the audience mesmerized.
Those in attendance included actors Kelly Rutherford, The Real Housewives of New York City’s Kelly Bensimon, Edy Ganem of TV’s Devious Maids, Toni Trucks of TNT’s Franklin & Bash, Nico Tortorella of Fox’s The Following; models Beverly Johnson, Brian Shimansky, Alex Lundqvist, Dan Murphy, Bella Hadid and Garrett Neff; as well as Miss USA 2012 Nana Meriwether.
