What seemed to be just a social experiment video about strangers who were asked to experience a first kiss together has been revealed that it was in fact a very, very clever social marketing campaign for the clothing line, WREN.

Filmmaker Tatia Pilieva shot a 3.28 min video, where 20 people were put on camera to go through that awkward first-kiss.  Awkward yes, but this little film actually shows a very sweet moment between two people. “I’ve directed a few sex scenes before—this was a lot harder,” said Pilieva. “My first instinct was to call ‘cut’ the moment people finished kissing but I painfully made myself wait and allowed the moments to breathe. The most beautiful moments took place when nothing was happening.”

The video has exploded, going viral with over 24 million views on You Tube (it was posted Monday at 2pm).

The clothes might not be a focal point on the First Kiss video but it is a fantastic example of using social media as a marketing tool to gain exposure.
