A Natural Household Cleaner Anyone Can Make

Recently a friend posted a Facebook message that said this,

“My friend got me so angry yesterday. After a long talk, with many tears, I’ve decided to pay more attention to the household products I buy and spend the extra money for the honest company’s products! I can’t believe in 2015, we’re still testing products on animals. Don’t ignore this issue, buy cruelty free!!!!!”

Let me just say, my friend’s heart is in the right place, but this post made me upset. The reason being, you don’t need to spend more to get cruelty free household products. In fact, you can spend a lot less!

You can easily make a homemade cleaning solution that’s naturally anti-bacterial, and simple to make. All you really need is vinegar!

That’s it. Vinegar is a simple home cleaner.

Here’s the thing, it can cut grease and sanitize your counters like any other household product. So why not invest a little time to save money and stay cruelty free?

A big complaint with vinegar as a cleaner is the smell. Well we have the way to fix it:

Natural Household Cleaner

3+ Oranges
1 Cup of Vinegar
1 Cup of Water
Large Jar

Peel the oranges, and place the rinds inside of the jar. Add the vinegar and cover. Let it sit for 2 weeks. (You can add rinds one a day if you’d rather wait until you’re going to eat the orange).

The orange rinds will cut the tough smell of the vinegar and give it a citrus scent.

Remove the orange rinds and add the cup of water. Mix well. Pour the solution in a spray bottle and, boom, you’ll become a cleaning machine.

You may find that your vinegar solution takes a little more elbow work than those crueler products (better for your arms anyway), but if you want something that will help move soil and dirt quicker, we recommend castile soap. If you’d like to use it as a spray, fill your spray bottle with water, add 2 tablespoons of soap. Easy as that.

Cruelty-free, homemade all-purpose cleaner that’s easier than you’d ever imagine.
