‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Leah Messer Just Lost Primary Care of Her Twin Daughters
This week has been an extremely rough day for Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer after the reality celebrity found out that she would be losing custody of her 5-year-old twin daughters Ali and Aleeah to ex-husband, Corey Simms.
The decision came after a long struggle for custody coming from Corey’s side after he accused the teen mom of drug abuse with prescription pills and dropping off their daughters to school late. A West Virginia judge reportedly granted Corey primary custody to be “effective immediately,” which officially took place on Oct. 13. Now Leah will only have access to her twin daughters on the weekends.
On top of losing custody of her twin girls, The Insider reports that Leah’s other ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert, may also be planning to file his own custody suit over Leah’s third daughter Addie.
“Everyone is very worried about Addie,” claims a source from In Touch Weekly. “She recently wandered out of the house while Leah was distracted. Thankfully, a police officer found Addie and brought her back home.”
While Leah has yet to comment on either of the custody battles, she did post a photo of her and the girls happily carving pumpkins together over the weekend.
Leah’s had a difficult time keeping her loved ones near in her history as a reality celebrity. Not only has she lost primary care of her twin girls, but she’s struggled to develop a successful marriage twice in her first years of motherhood.
Leah and her first husband Corey have been on-again-off-again from the start of the MTV show, ending with their ultimate divorce back in 2011 after Leah admitted to infidelity with another ex of hers Robbie Kidd. The split resulted in a series of arguments over how the children should be co-parented, and the divorced couple struggled with dealing with Ali’s health problems with Titin Muscular Dystrophy, a rare disease typically found in adults.
Later that year Leah began seeing second husband Jeremy Calvert, who she married in April of 2012 and had her third child Adalynn Faith (Addie) with, but the relationship also unraveled, as Leah began struggling with potential pill addictions and committed infidelity yet again (with the same guy!)
In the sixth season of the MTV show, Jeremy and Leah also divorced.
We feel for Leah as she pushes through this tough time in her life. After all, struggling to grow up as a teen mom and a celebrity would be terribly difficult.
As Addie is the only daughter she has left in her primary care or living with her, we’re interested to see what she has to say about the situation, and what will happen with the forthcoming custody battle coming from Jeremy.
Stick in there Leah!
