Looks like America loves chicken more than burgers and fries. If you haven’t heard, a recent poll by the American Customer Satisfaction Index announced that America’s favorite fast food establishment is Atlanta-based Chick-Fil-A. Founded way back in 1946, there are almost 2,000 locations across the U.S. I’ve only eaten there once and it was really, really delicious. A soft bun with crispy yet tender and juicy chicken. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. Unfortunately, their little incident a few years turned me off from them.
Scoring 86 points of satisfaction out of a hundred, it was closely followed by Tex-Mex chain Chipotle. The lowest? ol’ McDonald’s with 67 points. That’s a D where I come from.
Here’s my picks for my favorite fast food places.
Most people’s retirement dream is to buy an RV, travel, or open a bed and breakfast. Mine is to own a Panera and gorge. They have delicious soups, fresh sandwiches made to order and what seems like 343 different salads. Don’t forget the fresh baked bread you can purchase to go as well as decent coffee and pastries.
2. Shake Shack
You may not have one in your city…yet. The Danny Meyer burger spot has been blowing up ever since it was first introduced in 2000. Lines at the original location in NYC can get longer than opening night at a Star Wars movie.
Besides potoato products, fried chicken is my favorite food. Ever since tasting the spicy, crispy fried chicken from Popeye’s, I vowed to never eat KFC again. Their mashed potatoes are better because of the meat bits in the gravy. And the biscuits are far more moist and buttery.
