The Art Institute New York Fashion Week

One of the leading design institutions in New York City is The Art Institute. Providing a wide-range of career development curriculum, The Art Institute offers programs in graphic design, web design, digital filmmaking, interior design, interactive media, and fashion design.

This September The Art Institute held a show at Lincoln Center for the Spring/Summer 2014 New York Fashion Week. The show featured various designs that its student had created. PressRoomVIP got backstage access to speak with the inspiring fashion students.

In April The Art Institute began the process of selecting those individuals who were qualified to present at Mercedes-Benz Fashion. The application and audition process began with over hundred applicants. By the end, ten outstanding candidates had been chosen. “Since then it’s been on the grind working,” says one of the finalists Josimar Torres. Every collection was unique and made its own statement. These students truly have a diverse aesthetic. Their collections ranged from collegiate and bohemian to haute couture and vintage.

There is something that all the students did share which was their appreciation and recognition of The Art Institute. Daniel Jennings said, “I really can’t believe how much I have learned. I went into it just hoping to get an education, but I really got so much more than that. And I think the fact that we are showing here at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is really a testament to that.”
