Son Jung Wan F/W 2014

Sochi isn’t the only place featuring metallics. New York Fashion Week is glittered with golds and silvers. Son Jung Wan made it an integral element to her collection this season.

Inspired by abstract expressionist Mark Rothko who conveyed poignant sentiments from joy to sadness through color, Son Jung Wan painted her collection with shades of emotion for Fall 2014. The designer said, “it’s amazing that he tried to express emotion through his work. He tried to express various emotions and thoughts with color. I used his color palette, ocean blue, ivory and grey. I also used metallic colors to highlight my collection.”

Unforgettably stunning pieces included cream cashmere sculptural jackets, gold leather leggings, fur coats in vibrant hues and chic gunmetal/multi sequin cocktail dresses.

When asked about showing her collection in the tents at New York Fashion Week Son Jung Wan said, “I’m a lucky girl. I love New York and having a show in New York makes me happy and excited!”

Those in attendance included former Real Housewife of New York Kelly Bensimon, Adrienne Bailon of The RealGossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford and Radio Disney’s Jake Whetter.
