From caramel to candy, salty to sweet, popcorn is easy to make and even easier to dress up. You can bake a red velvet cake from the box but you can even just use leftover cake scraps. And, you don’t even have to limit yourself to red velvet. Birthday cake popcorn. Chocolate cake popcorn….ahhh, the possibilities. All you need is freshly made popcorn, melted white chocolate and cake leftovers.
Here’s what you do: Crumble cake leftovers with a fork. Pop some popcorn using whatever method you prefer. Create a double boiler with 2 pots (or microwave) to melt half a bag of white chocolate chips. Pour melted chocolate into bowl of popcorn and stir to coat evenly. Place the popcorn out on a large metal pan lined with parchment. While the chocolate is still warm, pour the red velvet crumbles over the top and give the popcorn a good toss. Let the coating set at room temperature or even refrigerate for a few minutes. Enjoy!
