On Wednesday, November 5th the annual K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers gala made history with a sold out event and an attendance of 1,000 guests at the American Museum of Natural History.
Supermodel Coco Rocha emceed the gala that raised over $2.15 million to provide clothing and household supplies for people in need worldwide. The gala’s #GiveWarmth campaign exceeded its goal, collecting 1,060,000 pieces of new warm apparel and blankets by November 5, 2014.
The honorees of the night were Heidi Klum, Emmy-Winning TV Host, and Executive Producer & Entrepreneur, who was presented by Fashion Designer Zac Posen; Carl Banks, Former NY Giant and President of G-III Sports, who was introduced by Morris Goldfarb, Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of G-III; and Thomas A. Kingsbury, President and CEO of Burlington Stores, Inc, who was presented by Mark Verdi, President of C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc.
Board chairs Allan Ellinger and Gary Simmons led the evening’s Text to Pledge where guests were able to pledge donations in real time for funds to cover product shipping costs. Text to Pledge donations consisted of an additional $85,000.
Overall, the evening was a total success. The bar has been raised for next year, and we hope kind souls will keep contributing by donating blankets and warm apparel–we have a very chilly winter in store!
