Brazilian designer Alessandra Meskita comes back for the spring/summer 2015 season at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with a collection inspired by egyptian goddesses. If we were fascinated with her show last season, we were totally blown away with the bold execution she carried onto this collection.
Alessandra always wanted to create more than just a clothing line. She wanted to build a lifestyle. Meskita is a brand conceived to accentuate culture, exploration and imagination. Elegant silks and very feminine cuts proves she brings Brazilian culture to life in her spring summer collection. Hand pleated silks and chiffon coupled with weighted neoprene and leather that offer structure and fluidity. But the main takeaway from this collection is gold, a lot of gold! She uses heavy, metallic gold thread. Gold seemed to have conquered everything in the collection. There was gold in the hair, gold makeup, gold accessories, gold on the shoes. It seemed to have the Midas touch.
What else dominated the runway? Pleats! Head to toe, everything moves and falls in exactly the way she wants it. Her attention to detail is extraordinary.
Gold was not the only metallic present. There was silver, as well as metallic pinks, blues and greens that glittered the runway. A personal favorite were the incredible white gowns which were breathe taking! I personally am a fan of the white dresses. They are beautiful! I can totally see myself wearing them.
Alessandra Meskita has a very bright future ahead of her. She steps up her game every season! For more from this Brazilian sensation go to Meskita.com.
