For her late father, Kurt Cobain...
If you’re a fan on rock and roll, you probably know that Kurt Cobain’s birthday was today. He was one of the most influential and recognizable faces in the industry and most of us still feel his absence in the genre today. He would have turned 50 years old, and musicians all over the world are posting their tributes to the late artist. One that made our hearts fill to the brim was his daughter’s Frances Bean.
She posted a note on Instagram with the caption, “February 20th 2017. Happy Birthday.”
Following the note, she posted another screenshot of a conversation with her grandmother that made us teary eyed! We weren’t the only ones. She commented her photo, “Not gonna lie, I cried a little. I love you grams.”
Other fans of the artist joined on Twitter to share their favorite quotes. We particularly liked his outspoken opinion on LGBT rights saying, “If any of you in any way hate homosexuals, people of a different color or women please do this one favor for us – don’t come to our shows and don’t buy our records.” Yes please!!
There’s no question Kurt paved the way for countless artists today. Lana Del Rey, Justin Timberlake, Blink-182, and Jay Z have all quoted Nirvana songs in their own lyrics, just to name a few. What are your favorite memories of the singer? Let us know and be sure to SHARE this article!
The pangs of nostalgia are real!
