Dreams Come True for 13 Young Designers at NYFW

Thirteen of the The Art Institute Students and alumni presented their collections at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The Art Institutes‘ schools have proven to be an important source for designers, media artists, fashion and culinary professionals. The selected designers were chosen by a selection committee of industry experts. This year the competition was even tougher because in previous seasons it was only The Art Institute of New York students and alumni that were able to showcase their designs. This year they expand the search nationwide. The selected students from Portland, San Francisco, Miami, Philadelphia all flew into New York City to have an amazing experience. There were a lot of international students in the group, especially the from Latin community.

We talked with some of the designers about their collections and experiences in Fashion Week.
